Summer learning journey

Today I kinda took part in the summer learning journey.

For school we needed to colour in a famous art piece.

I don't really know what this one is but it looks cool.

Energys

Today I rearranged energy types to what they look like:>

Electrical energy- Electrical energy is starts to do stuff when you plug in your computer and it starts to charge with the energy inside the cord that you plugged into your computer. Note: I don't know if this is all true. 

Light energy- Some Light energy is made from the electrical signals in the lights on your ceiling. Another note: I don't know is this is correct please don't take this and tell people this.

Chemical energy- sorry but I don't know what this one is :(

Motion energy- Motion energy is created when your running. It creates energy in you. Or your rubbing two things together and that makes it too. Note: I don't know if these are true I just think this.   

Heat energy- Head energy is created from the SUN! It is also is made from fireplaces and forest fires AND MORE! I shouldn't have said the last one.    

Gravitational energy- Gravitational energy is EVERYWHERE but you can't see it! it keeps us living. if we didn't have Gravitational energy. We would be floating in space dead right now!

Sound energy- Sound energy is created when you play a instrument like a garter or trombone.😁  

Elastic energy- One of the ways to create Elastic energy is to jump on a trampoline.

Lego Bridge - Task for Wednesday

Today I made a Lego bridge and some cars and lots of other stuff.

Did you know that Lego is over 80 years old!! I didn't!!!!!

I liked making the bridge but if was hard to find all the bits.

I should play with my lego more often.

Today I did a fact poster about turtles.

I didn't like drawing the sea turtle it was very hard.

Bouncing Egg!!

Over the weekend I did a bouncing egg experiment.

I liked watching the egg dissolve and really liked the way it feels.

I didn't like that I held it up to high and broke the egg all over my chromebook. Mum had to clean it, egg went EVERYWHERE!!!!

Next time I will listen to mum.

Today I made a pen pal letter to my best friend Flynn

I liked typing instead of writing on paper because I can go a lot faster.

It was easy thinking of all the things I have been doing in lockdown.

I was amazed of how much I wrote in a hour.

It was quite hard because moving the person was very hard and trying to look at the camera.

It was hard to think of words but I did it.

I liked making this chart because I did lots of things and I could do anything.

Composting!

Today I made a cat out of pinecones, leafs, sticks and flowers.

I helped mum make a kiwi out of dried-up punga leafs, a flower and sticks.

I needed to make it two times because the first time the wind blew the cat away.

I liked making the cat and helping mum with the kiwi because I like cats!

This was very hard to record on the Chromebook as the camera wasnt on the other side.

Mum did a good job.

It was fun doing it!

Whanau team challenge-Invercargill-Amazing race

 

Today Mum, Dad and I made a challenge. We made a North and South Island map.

From the North Island to Invercargill in the South Island.

I was the fastest, 15 seconds, mum was slowest 19 seconds.

Today I did a word cloud.

I found deleting the words tricky there were 138 words to take out.

I liked the happy and bright colours.

Next time I will put more words in so it makes a better shape.

 

 

Today I drew a Kereru.

I enjoyed drawing the Kereru and doing the colours.

I found it quite hard getting the right shape.

We see the wood pigeons in our holly tree eating the berries and pooped on my dads ute.

Eels!

New Zealand freshwater eels can live up to be 100 years old.

There are 2 main types of eels, the longfin and the shortfin eel.

How can you tell them apart? Well the longfin eel has a longer top fin and the shortfin eel has a shorter fin

My science experiment about fossil fuels and oil

Today I did a science experiment about fossil fuels and oil.

1: use the spoon to push the playdo into the cup with  holes in it. 

2: put dirt in the cup with holes.

3: fill the cup half full with water.

4: mix the dirt with the water and to make mud.

5: put some very small rocks in the water.

6: use a cup to squash all the materials in the cup with holes and it look like oil.
